Met Mast - February 2024

We are excited to announce the installation of a meteorological mast (met mast) and state-of-the-art LIDAR trailers at the Mid West Wind Farm in West Casuarinas. This development is an important step forward in our project and supports our ongoing wind monitoring campaign.

Met Mast Installation

The newly erected met mast, standing 120 meters tall, is outfitted with cutting-edge sensors designed to collect data on wind speed, direction, temperature, and atmospheric pressure. This information is crucial for optimizing the layout and operation of the wind turbines to ensure maximum efficiency and environmental sustainability.

LIDAR Trailers Deployed

In addition to the mast, we have strategically placed LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) trailers throughout the project area. These mobile, laser-based systems measure wind speeds and atmospheric conditions across different heights and distances. The LIDAR trailers provide enhanced flexibility as the mobility of the trailers enables us to easily monitor different sections of the site.

By combining data from both the mast and LIDAR, we can ensure the most accurate and comprehensive wind analysis to inform turbine placement and energy production strategies.

Why This Matters

This combination of advanced wind monitoring techniques will significantly contribute to the success of the Mid West Wind Farm, ensuring that the wind farm will operate efficiently and provide maximum clean energy output to the community.

We will continue to update the community as the project progresses. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact us.
